This comprehensive tour features highlights of the Nordic Capitals. Begin your journey in Stockholm, built on 14 islands, often called "the Venice of the North" because of the beautiful archipelago, its many canals and waterways. Highlights in Stockholm include the Royal Palace, City Hall and the Old Town. Time to visit to the Vasa Museum. Scenic cruises from Stockholm across the Baltic Sea to Helsinki, the "Daughter of the Baltic", on the luxurious Silja Line ship. Return voyage to Stockholm, continue by motor coach through the idyllic Swedish countryside, the provinces of Småland and Skåne to Malmö. Cross over the new Øresund Bridge into Denmark and wonderful Copenhagen, followed by a cruise to Oslo. Visit three magnificent fjords, the idyllic Hardanger Fjord, captivated by the snow-covered Hardanger Vidda mountain plateau. Cruise from Bergen on the Aurlandsfjord, the Naeroyfjord, and the Sogne Fjord to the fjord village of Balestrand. Stay at the historic Kvikne's Hotel, dating back to 1877. Continue to the magnificent Geiranger Fjord with powerful waterfalls "Seven Sister" and " Bridal Veil" cascading down the sheer mountain cliffs. Day 1 ARRIVE STOCKHOLM (D) Arrive Stockholm Airport. Transfer to hotel in connection with your flight arrival. Your tour escort will meet you at the hotel. Enjoy dinner and overnight at the Sheraton Stockholm Hotel.
Day 2 STOCKHOLM (B, D) Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a 4-hours guided city tour of Stockholm. Famous sights include the Royal Palace, the Parliament Buildings, the island of Djurgården and the famous Old Town ( Gamla Stan). Visit the City Hall with its famous Blue and Golden Halls, where the Nobel Prize Banquet is held each year. Afternoon free in Stockholm. Your tour escort will be happy to arrange optional visits to the impressive Drottningholm Palace or the famous Vasa Museum. Dinner and overnight at the Sheraton Stockholm Hotel.
Day 3 STOCKHOLM - BALTIC SEA CRUISE - HELSINKI (B, D) Breakfast at your hotel. Morning at leisure to explore more of the sights and museums in Stockholm. Afternoon transfer to the pier. Departure at 17:00 on your overnight cruise through the archipelago and across the Baltic Sea bound for Helsinki. Enjoy the luxury on the fabulous Silja Line ship, the entertainment, shops, casinos, bars and promenade with outdoor cafés and a delicious Scandinavian buffet dinner on board. Overnight in your comfortable seaside cabin on board the fabulous Silja Line ship.
Day 4 HELSINKI - BALTIC SEA CRUISE - STOCKHOLM (B, D) Enjoy your buffet breakfast, as you sail across the Baltic Sea into Helsinki Harbor. We proceed with a 3-hour guided city tour of Helsinki. Famous sights include the Senate Square, Uspenskij Cathedral, Parliament House, Finlandia Hall, New Opera House, Sibelius Park & Monument, Underground Temple, etc. Afternoon free for excellent shopping or more sightseeing. 17:00 departure for your return voyage across the Baltic Sea bound for Stockholm. Dinner and overnight your comfortable seaside cabin on board Silja Line.
Day 5 STOCKHOLM -MALMO - COPENHAGEN (B, L, D)
After a delicious buffet breakfast on board, the ship arrives back in Stockholm at 09:30. Continue by coach through the pleasant countryside of Southern Sweden, to the city of Jönköping, beautifully located on the southern shore of Lake Vättern. Stop for lunch. Drive through the provinces of Småland and Skåne to the city of Malmö. Cross over the new Øresund Bridge to arrive in Wonderful Copenhagen in the early evening. Dinner and overnight at the Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel. (For tours starting on June 13 & July 11 accommodation at Radisson SAS Royal Hotel)
Day 6 COPENHAGEN (B, D) Breakfast at the hotel. The day starts with a 3-hour guided city tour of the Danish capital city. Visit the Amalienborg Palace, Christiansborg Palace, seat of the Danish Parliament, Hans Christian Andersen?s statue, the old colorful harbor of Nyhavn and the famous Little Mermaid. Afternoon at leisure. Time for shopping along Stroget, the famous pedestrian street, stretching from the City Hall to Nyhavn. Here you will find famous shops like the Royal Copenhagen, famous silversmith George Jensen, and several fabulous department stores. This evening your tour escort will take you for dinner in the world famous and bustling Tivoli Gardens. Overnight at the Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel. Day 7 COPENHAGEN - CRUISE - OSLO (B, D) After breakfast, enjoy the morning in Copenhagen on your own. Afternoon transfer to the terminal for your overnight cruise to Oslo onboard the fabulous DFDS Seaways ship. Enjoy a delicious Scandinavian buffet dinner and entertainment on board. Overnight in your comfortable outside cabin on the modern DFDS Seaways ship.
Day 8 OSLO (B, D) Breakfast on board while you are cruising into the Oslo Fjord. Enjoy the beautiful view over the Norwegian capital city while the ship sails into the Oslo Harbor. Proceed with a 3-hour guided city tour of Oslo, including the world-famous Viking Ships, the Polar Exploration ship Fram, the amazing Vigeland Sculpture Park and Holmenkollen Ski Jump with panoramic view over the city and fjord. Dinner and overnight at the Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel.
Day 9 OSLO (B, D) Day at leisure for your own activities. Dinner and overnight at the Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel.
Day 10 OSLO - HARDANGERFJORD - BERGEN (B, L, D)
After breakfast, drive past the beautiful Tyri Fjord to the town of Geilo. Lunch at Bardøla Mountain Hotel. Cross the scenic Hardanger Mountain Plateau to Fossli and the Vøringsfoss Waterfall. Descend the amazing Måbødalen Canyon to the idyllic Hardanger Fjord. Continue via Voss and Dale to Bergen, gateway to the Fjords. Dinner and overnight at the Clarion Hotel Admiral ideally situated on the waterfront overlooking Bryggen, minutes from the Fish and Flower Market.
Day 11 BERGEN - SOGNE FJORD - BALESTRAND
(B, L, D)
After breakfast, enjoy a panorama tour of Bergen. Visit the famous Fish and Flower Market, the old Bryggen Harbor, the popular Hanseatic Quarter and the ancient Maria Church. Ride on the Bergen Funicular to Mt. Fløyen for panoramic views of the city and fjords. Lunch at Bryggeloftet Restaurant. Continue onto Voss, across the Vika Mountains to Vangsnes and Balestrand. Dinner and overnight at the Kvikne's Hotel, dating back to 1850.
Day 12 BALESTRAND - SOGNE FJORD - NÆRØYFJORD (B, L, D)
After breakfast, short drive to Slinde. Continue with a 2 hour cruise along the Sogne Fjord to Gudvangen. Cruise along the narrow Nærøy Fjord to disembark in Gudvangen. Lunch in Gudvangen. Ascend to Stalheim with breathtaking views of the Stalheim Canyon. Continue to the picturesque villages of Flåm, Aurland, passing through the new Lærdal Tunnel toward Sogndal. Drive the north shore of the Sogne Fjord crossing once more from Hella to Dragsvik, onto Balestrand. Dinner and overnight at the historic Kviknes Hotel, dating back to 1877, superbly located overlooking the fjord.
Day 13 BALESTRAND - BRIKSDAL GLACIER - GEIRANGER (B, L, D)
After breakfast departure by ferry, for a one hours cruise along the fjord to Fjærland. Continue by coach along the scenic route, passing under the Jostedal Glacier, the largest in Europe, to the village of Skei. Descend to the beautiful Nord Fjord, making a detour at Olden to visit the world-famous Briksdal Glacier. The journey up to the glacier will be made in open cars to give you the best of views. Afterwards a typical Norwegian lunch will be served in sight of the glacier. During the afternoon the tour continues via Loen and Stryn, to the picturesque village of Hellesylt. From here you go on board the ferry for the one hours cruise along the spectacular Geiranger Fjord, possibly the most impressive of all the Norwegian fjords. During the cruise you will pass close by some magnificent waterfalls, such as the Bridal Veil and the Seven Sisters. Dinner and accommodation at the excellent Union Hotel, overlooking the Geiranger Fjord.
Day 14 GEIRANGER - LILLEHAMMER - OSLO (B, L, D)
Breakfast at the hotel. Cross the exciting Grotli Mountains to Lom, renowned for its well preserved 14th century stave church. Continue via Lake Vågå. Descend the idyllic Gudbrandsdalen to Lillehammer. Enjoy lunch and a visit the famous Olympic Park in Lillehammer. Continue the journey along Lake Mjøsa, largest lake in Norway, back to Oslo. Dinner and overnight at the Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel.
Day 15 OSLO DEPARTURE (B)
Buffet breakfast at hotel, followed by transfer to Oslo Airport for your flight home.
