Day 1 ARRIVE OSLO (D)
Transfer from Oslo Gardermoen Airport to hotel in connection with your flight arrival. Dinner and accommodation at Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel, a first class hotel located in city centre.
Day 2 OSLO (B, D)
Morning 3 hours guided tour of the Norwegian capital, including visit to the world-famous Viking Ships, the Polar exploration ship Fram, and the amazing Vigeland Sculpture Park. This will be followed by an excursion by coach to Holmenkollen for panoramic views of the city and fjord. Afternoon free. Dinner and accommodation at Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel.
Day 3 OSLO - HARDANGER FJORD - BERGEN (B, L, D)
After breakfast departure from Oslo, driving to the mountain resort of Geilo for a delicious buffet lunch at Bardøla Mountain Hotel. The tour continues across the wild Hardanger Mountain Plateau, stopping at Fossli to admire Norway’s highest waterfall, Vøringsfoss, with a vertical drop of 180 m. Descend to the lovely Hardanger Fjord. Short ferry crossing, before continuing via Voss and Dale to Bergen, capital of Western Norway and Gateway to the Fjords. Dinner and accommodation at Clarion Hotel Admiral, with a unique location overlooking the old Bryggen Harbour.
Day 4 BERGEN - SOGNE FJORD - BALESTRAND
(B, L, D)
After buffet breakfast, start of panorama tour of Bergen, including a visit to the popular Fish and Flower Market, the famous Bryggen Harbour with its gabled packhouses, and the old Hanseatic Quarter. You will also ride on the funicular to Mt. Floyen, for the best views of the city and fjords way below. Lunch at Bryggeloftet Restaurant. After lunch departure from Bergen to the town of Voss. Stop to view the enchanting Tvindefoss Waterfall, believed to be the source of eternal youth. Continue by coach across the Vika Mountains to Vangsnes for the short ferry crossing to the beautiful resort of Balestrand. Dinner and accommodation at Kvikne’s Hotel, superbly located on the banks of the fjord and surrounded by mountains.
Day 5 BALESTRAND – A DAY IN THE FJORDS (B, L, D)
The day starts with a traditional Norwegian buffet breakfast in the hotel’s elegant dining room. After breakfast short drive to Slinde, where you go on board Robinson Scandinavia’s own sightseeing boat M/S Lady Elisabeth. 10.30 hrs.: Start of more than 2 hours cruise along the splendid Sogn Fjord, the longest and deepest fjord in the world. From the sun deck or the comfortable lounge, you can enjoy the spectacular scenery of cascading waterfalls, sheer mountain cliffs, snow-clad peaks, and a variety of wildlife. Cruise along the narrow and winding Nærøy Fjord to disembark in the village of Gudvangen. Lunch in Gudvangen. After lunch ascent to Stalheim for breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain peaks and Stalheim Canyon. The tour continues via the picturesque villages of Flåm and Aurland, towards the town of Sogndal. Drive along the beautiful northern shore of the Sogne Fjord, crossing the fjord once more by ferry from Hella to Dragsvik, to arrive back in Balestrand in late afternoon. Dinner and accommodation at Kvikne’s Hotel.
Day 6 BALESTRAND - BRIKSDAL GLACIER - GEIRANGER (B, L, D)
After breakfast departure by ferry, for a one hour’s cruise along the fjord to Fjærland. Continue by coach along the scenic road, passing under the Jostedal Glacier, the largest in Europe, to the village of Skei. Descend to the beautiful Nord Fjord, making a detour at Olden to visit the world-famous Briksdal Glacier. The journey up to the glacier will be made in open cars to give you the best of views. A typical Norwegian lunch will be served in sight of the glacier. During afternoon the tour continues via Loen and Stryn, to the picturesque village of Hellesylt. From here you go on board the ferry for the one hour’s cruise along the spectacular Geiranger Fjord, possibly the most impressive of all the Norwegian fjords. During the cruise you will pass close by some magnificent waterfalls, such as the Bridal Veil and the Seven Sisters. Dinner and accommodation at the excellent Union Hotel, overlooking the Geiranger Fjord.
Day 7 GEIRANGER - LILLEHAMMER - OSLO (B, L, D)
More magnificent scenery today, as your tour crosses first the Grotli Mountains to Lom, then following Lake Vågå, descends the majestic Gudbrandsdalen Valley, well known for its old farmsteads and beautiful river, to the world-famous town of Lillehammer. Lunch at Rica Victoria Hotel. After lunch time to visit the Olympia Park, before continuing alongside Lake Mjøsa, to arrive back in Oslo during the early evening. Dinner and accommodation at Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel.
Day 8 OSLO STOCKHOLM (B, L, D)
Breakfast at your hotel. Continue by coach towards the Swedish border, crossing into the charming province of Värmland. Arrive in the city of Karlstad on Lake Vänern, the largest lake in Sweden. After lunch the tour continues through the idyllic Swedish countryside, a landscape of forests and sparkling lakes, before reaching the Stockholm late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the Sheraton Stockholm Hotel.
Day 09 STOCKHOLM (B, D)
Breakfast at the hotel. The day starts with a 4-hour guided tour of the city. Famous sights include the Royal Palace, Parliament Buildings, Cathedral, and Royal Theatre. Take a stroll through the enchanting Old Town (Gamla Stan) with its narrow cobbled streets and numerous antique shops. Highlight of the tour is a visit to City Hall with its famous Blue and Golden Halls, where the Nobel Prize banquet is held each year. Afternoon free in Stockholm, perhaps a visit to the famous Wasa Museum, take a canal tours, or a cruise through the archipelago surrounding Stockholm, built on 14 islands.
Dinner and overnight at the Sheraton Stockholm Hotel.
Day 10 STOCKHOLM - DEPARTURE (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out and tour ends after breakfast, with transfers to Stockholm Arlanda Airport to connect with individual flight departures.
