Day 1 OSLO
Individual arrival in Oslo. Transfer on your own to the hotel. The SAS Airport Bus stops directly at the hotel. Overnight at the Bristol Hotel, ideally located in the city center by Karl-Johan-Boulevard.
Day 2 OSLO (B)
This afternoon enjoy a walking tour in Oslo including the major sights. Continue with an Oslo harbor boat cruise to the Hovedøy Island. Enjoy dinner and a walk through the ruins of a medieval monastery before returning to Oslo. Overnight at the Bristol Hotel
Day 3 OSLO (B)
After breakfast enjoy a short walk to the harbor to catch the ferry to Bygdøy. Visit the Viking Ship, Kon-Tiki and Fram Museums. and return by ferry to Oslo. With your Oslo cards, you have the rest of the afternoon for free admission to museums and travel by public transportation. Late afternoon walking tour of the sculptures at the Vigeland Park. Overnight at the Bristol Hotel
Day 4 TELEMARK - GAUSTQABLIKK (B, L, D)
Early morning departure by private coach to the Heddal Stave Church, dating back to the 1100’s. We continue into the Telemark district of Norway and make our way up the Tuddal Mountain to the Gaustadblikk Mountain Hotel. After a picnic lunch we will hike to the top of the nearby mountain, Gaustadtoppen. On a clear day, 1/6 of all of Norway can be seen from the summit. The hike is about 4-5 hours long. Enjoy the swimming pool and sauna, or just relax and enjoy the view at the hotel. Boats can be rented for rowing in the lake by the hotel. Norwegian style buffet dinner tonight. Day 5 HARDANGER FJORD - LOFTHUS (B, D)
Morning departure to Rjukan, site of the sabotage action of WW II, the blowing up of the heavy water plant. Tour the Industrial Workers Museum at Vemork. Further on up to the Hardanger Mountain Plateau. Lunch stop at the old Haukeliseter mountain farm for lunch non your own before continuing to the Hotel Ullensvang . Enjoy the amenities here, such as swim in the pool, go rowing in the fjord, walk around the mountain orchards or sit back and soak in the stupendous scenery. Norwegian style buffet dinner. Overnight at the Hotel Ullensvang
Day 6 HARDANGER FJORD - BERGEN (B, L)
Morning departure to Kinsarvik, continue by ferry to Utne. In good weather we will drive along the Hardanger Fjord to Jondal and then up the mountain road to the Folgefonna Glacier where we will have a picnic lunch and an excursion on the glacier with an enclosed Snowcat. If the weather doesn’t permit a visit to the glacier, we will visit the Steinstø Fruit Farm and the Hardanger Boat Center instead. Stop at the Steindalsfossen where you have the opportunity to walk underneath the falls. Late afternoon arrival in Bergen. Overnight at the First Hotel Marin
Day 7 BERGEN (B, D)
Morning walking tour of the old medieval wharf area, Bryggen and the Hanseatic Museum
Afternoon free to explore the fish market and Bergen’s many charming back streets.
In the evening, we take the Fløibanen Funicular 1,000 feet up the mountain to the Fløien Folkerestaurant for dinner and a bird’s eye view of the city. Overnight at the Hotel First Marin
Day 8 BERGEN (B)
Enjoy a lovely breakfast buffet before checkout. Tour ends after breakfast.
