Our very popular Glacier tour start by visiting Hveragerði, a horticultural center, where geothermal water is used to warm greenhouses to grow varying kinds of vegetables and flowers. Travel over fertile farmlands and sand flats Markarfljót, heading to Skógar, the Skógarfoss and Seljarlandsfoss waterfalls and the sand flats by the glacial river Markafljót. Continue to the Skaftafell National Park, one of Iceland’s most outstanding areas of natural beauty, dominated by the glacier Vatnajökull. The park was set aside in 1968 as one of Iceland's most outstanding areas of natural beauty. On to Jökulsárlón and the Glacial Lagoon, where we enjoy a boat trip among the floating icebergs. From the lagoon to the Þjórsárdalur valley, dominated by the celebrated volcano Hekla, Iceland's most active volcano. If weather permits you will visit Þórsmörk valley, a picturesque site beneath glaciers. Other highlights are the famous Geysir hot springs, along with Strokkur, spouting every few minutes. On to Gullfoss, the Golden Fall, one of Iceland’s most impressive waterfalls. The last stop is Þingvellir National Park, where for centuries the ancient Viking Parliament convened in the open on the shores of Iceland’s largest lake.
