Day 1 DEPARTURE USA
Evening departure from JFK / BOS / BWI or MSP on Icelandair. Sit back, relax and enjoy your flight bound for Iceland and the Keflavik Airport.
Day 2 ARRIVAL KEFLAVIK - REYKJAVIK
Morning arrival at the Keflavík Airport. Transfer transfer by Flybus to the newly renovated, elegant Nordica Hotel, Iceland's largest spa hotel, ideally located in the city center. This 4 star deluxe hotel has become one of the coolest and trendiest places to stay in Reykjavik. The Nordica Spa is the ultimate escape to nurture and sooth the mind, body and soul. Check-in and rest of day at leisure to explore some of the sights in Reykjavik. Overnight at the Nordica Hotel****, Iceland's largest Spa hotel.
Day 3 REYKJAVIK (B)
Today enjoy your Reykjavik City sightseeing tour, a great introduction to the capital of Iceland, its past and present. Afternoon at leisure. Perhaps enjoy a session at the fitness center, staffed by helpful trainers who can set up a special workout program. Or choose from a wide range of body and facial treatments, massages and aromatherapy. There are two Jacuzzis and one hot tub, two steam baths with different aromatic oils as well as a special relaxation room. Nordica Spa Reykjavik is the ultimate escape to nurture and soothe the mind, body and soul. Overnight at the elegant Nordica Hotel.
Day 4 GOLDEN CIRCLE - GULLFOSS - ÞINGVELLIR NATIONAL PARK - REYKJAVIK (B)
In the morning please be at the Eden greenhouse centre at 09:30- 09:45, from where the Golden Circle tour will start around 10:00. The first stop is at Kerið, an extinct volcanic crater, and continue to Skálholt, the site of an ancient bishopric. Visit Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall, one of the most impressive waterfalls in Europe. Only a few minutes drive from Gullfoss is the famous Great Geysir area, with it's most active geyser Strokkur, spouting up to 30 meters in regular intervals. Lunch-stop at the Geyser area (lunch is not included). Onwards to Þingvellir National Park, a remarkable geological and historic site. Þingvellir is the home of the world's oldest democratic parliament founded in 930. From Þingvellir over Mosfellsheiði plateau to Reykjavík, were you arrive in the late afternoon. Overnight at the Nordica Hotel in Reykjavik.
Day 5 REYKJAVIK - SNOW MOBILE SAFARI (B)
After breakfast we take a short drive to Hellisheidi, the lava area to the south of Mt. Henglafjoll. Enjoy magnificent views of the valley, and out to sea to the Westman Islands. We are equipped with thermal outfits, boots, gloves and a helmet before getting ourselves situated on the snow-mobiles. After a short safety drill, we go snowmobiling into the contrasts of nature at Hellisheidi, deepened by hot springs in the snow. Early afternoon transfer across the Hellisheidi mountain pass back to the capital. Overnight at the Nordica Hotel.
Day 6 REYKJAVIK - BLUE LAGOON (B)
Today our journey is relaxing and soothing! Visit the famous Blue Lagoon, a man-made Oasis in the lava fields of the Reykjanes Peninsula. Enjoy the geothermal wonder of the Blue Lagoon health spa, surrounded by dark lava fields covered with snow. Waterfall, steam bath, sauna, and an area designed for in-water Blue Lagoon spa massage and treatments are among the new additions to the geothermal spa. Stand under the waterfall with Blue Lagoon sea water and enjoy the pulsating water massage. Swimming in the Blue Lagoon is not only enjoyable, but the mineral rich water is also reputed to have healing powers for your skin. Transfer back to the city center of Reykjavík. Overnight at the Nordica Hotel.
Day 7 REYKJAVIK - DEPARTURE (B)
Enjoy breakfast buffet at your hotel. Morning at leisure for last minute shopping. Afternoon transfer by Flybus from the hotel to the Keflavik Airport for your return flight on Icelandair. Your Iceland Winter Adventure has come to an end.
