DENMARK IN A NUTSHELL 2005

A short and comprehensive introduction to Denmark. Visit the lively city of Copenhagen, capital of Denmark. Enjoy highlights such as the Royal Palace, Amalienborg Palace, Tivoli Gardens and the Little Mermaid. Continue to the historic town of Odense, home of Hans Christian Andersen. Explore the cobblestone streets of Århus and visit Ebeltoft, one of the oldest towns in Denmark. Travel by rail, enjoy the picturesque and charming Danish countryside on guided sightseeing excursions, and have ample time to explore on your own. A great way to experience fairytale Denmark, its Royal Castles and Palaces, the charming and idyllic countryside, old towns rich in history and culture.

Day 1 COPENHAGEN
Arrive Copenhagen, transfer on your own to the hotel. Day at your leisure. Overnight at the First Hotel Vesterbro, ideally located near Tivoli Gardens.


Day 2 COPENHAGEN (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a 2.5-hour city tour including all the major sights. Afternoon at leisure. Perhaps take a stroll through the popular pedestrian street "Stroget", where you will find famous stores such as Royal Copenhagen and George Jensen silversmith. Visit Tivoli Gardens, the National Gallery or museums. Overnight at the First Hotel Vesterbro.



Day 3 COPENHAGEN - ODENSE (B)

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Transfer on your own to Central Station. Depart by train to Odense and transfer on your own to the hotel upon arrival. Enjoy the rest of your day exploring the sights with your Odense city pass. Perhaps visit the Hans Christian Andersen Museum. Overnight at the Clarion Hotel Plaza.

Day 4 ODENSE - ÅRHUS (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning at your leisure to explore Odense before taking the train to the coastal city of Århus. Transfer on your own the hotel. Ample time to enjoy the sights of Århus, or perhaps visit the "Gamle By" open-air museum using your 48 hour Århus city pass. Overnight at the Scandic Hotel Plaza.



Day 5 ÅRHUS (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. With your Århus city pass, enjoy a 2 hour city tour of the historic town. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Perhaps take a side trip to one of the oldest villages in Denmark, the idyllic town of Ebeltoft. Overnight at the Scandic Hotel Plaza.

Day 6 COPENHAGEN (B)

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Transfer on your own to the train station for your journey back to Copenhagen.
