Sail on this exciting cruise from Helsinki aboard the Finnish owned and operated M/S Kristina Regina. The five-night voyage begins in Helsinki, calls on ports on the islands of Åland, Gotland, and the Baltic State of Latvia before returning to Finland. On Åland we visit the maritime city of Mariehamn, founded in 1861 while Åland and Finland formed part of the mighty Russian Empire. Continue to Riga, the capital of the Republic of Latvia. Riga is the state's administrative and political center and the largest city in the Baltic States. Often called a “small Paris”, its history is dating back many centuries. Its Old Town, the most ancient part of the city has been preserved from the 13th century. After spending the day in Riga we continue to Visby on Gotland Island. Explore the medieval Hanseatic town surrounded by a town wall from the Middle Ages. Medieval church ruins and colorful warehouses blend with the quaint red-roofed homes lining the narrow streets. Return voyage across the Baltic Sea to Helsinki, the capital of Finland, often called the "Daughter of the Baltic".
