M/S NORDSTJERNEN - CABIN PLAN
The MS Nordstjernen was built in Hamburg in 1956, and was until 1993 in service on the Norwegian Coastal Voyage. From 1994 she has been sailing along the northwest coast of Spitsbergen during summer season. She was rebuilt and modernized at the start of the 80's and again in the spring of 2000. The ship has beautiful salons with a modern design and a touch of the old Atlantic cruise ships. The outside areas have also been refurbished and the ship has a proper wooden deck. The ship is equipped with a bar, dining room, café, and a panoramic lounge. She also has a fleet of tender boats for excursions. The MS Nordstjernen has 54 cruise cabins: all cabins with upper/lower berths. The cabins are not wheelchair accessible.

We have a non-smoking policy onboard MS Nordstjernen, where smoking is allowed on the aft-deck only. All major credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, Amex, Diners) are accepted onboard the ship. The currency accepted onboard is Norwegian Kroner. Mobile phones do not work after sailing out of Longyearbyen. MS Nordstjernen has a satellite telephone that can be used in case of urgent messages have to be delivered.
