THE TRIANGLE TOUR  2006

One of the most popular rail excursions in Fjord Norway!

Oslo - Bergen - Stavanger - Oslo or

Oslo - Stavanger - Bergen - Oslo

Departures daily, all year

This unique excursion includes two rail lines; the Bergen Railway and the Southern Railway. It’s a perfect way to combine the gentle southern region, the wild, beautiful west coast and the charm of Norway’s capital. You might set out from Oslo with a relaxing train journey on the Southern Railway Line through green forests and heather meadows to Kristiansand on the southern coast. The train then heads northwest as the landscape changes to the flat and fertile fields of Jaeren, known for its unusual light. Admire the long, white beaches as you approach the west coast at Brusand and continue to Stavanger. By Flaggruten boat along the rugged coast between Stavanger and Bergen. Enjoy the fresh air, sea and beautiful coastline and archipelago.

Once you arrive in Bergen we recommend a visit the colorful Fish and Flower Market, stroll among the old Hanseatic trade buildings along the Bryggen harbour, perhaps take the Floybanen to the top of

Mt. Floyen for panoramic views of the city and fjords. The journey from Bergen to Oslo takes you across "the roof of Norway" through a landscape of dramatic beauty. Across snow capped mountains via Myrdal and Finse, the highest point of the journey with views of the blue ice of the Hardangerjøkulen glacier.

We recommend you to spend a night or two on your journey to experience the cities' individual charm and character. When visiting Stavanger, you may join a guided fjord sightseeing on the Lysefjord and   the famous rock formation Pulpit Rock.

You have the option to choose your own itinerary and start the tour at selected places along the route. The tour can also be combined with Norway in a Nutshell tour and/or The Sogne Fjord Excursion!
