Our comprehensive Scandinavian highlights tour features a combination of colorful Scandinavian capitals, cruises on the most spectacular Fjords in Norway and out to sea. Travel by private motor coach, overnight cruises on DFDS Seaways through the Oslo Fjord. Starting in Stockholm, the" Venice of the North, we travel through famous "Kingdom of Crystal" region and the picturesque Swedish Countryside. Via Småland region to historic towns and cathedrals. In Wonderful Copenhagen", visit the Little Mermaid and Tivoli. Enjoy an overnight cruise on the fabulous DFDS Seaways ship, sailing across the Baltic Sea into the Oslo Fjord. Highlights of Oslo are the Viking Ship Museum, the Vigeland Sculptor Park and Holmenkollen. Cruise on the mighty Sogne Fjord and Geiranger Fjord with dramatic scenery of snow-capped mountains, glaciers, waterfalls. Following the Norway Nutshell route, you cruise on the spectacular Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord, and enjoy the ride on the famous Flåm Railway to Myrdal before heading to the Fjord capital of Bergen. Across the Hardangervidda mountains to the resort town of Geilo, and through the idyllic Hallingdal Valley we return to Oslo.

Day 1 ARRIVAL STOCKHOLM (D)
Individual arrival in Stockholm. Transfer on your own to the hotel. Welcome to Stockholm, Swedens Old capital. Laced with canals and bridges, unique in its blend of tradition and innovation. Some of Scandinavias finest museums and restaurants are found in the city. The afternoon will be at leisure to relax and enjoy Stockholm. This evening you will join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner. Dinner and overnight at the Clarion Stockholm Hotel or similar.
Day 2 STOCKHOLM (B)
After breakfast, depart for a morning sightseeing tour of Stockholm. Your tour includes a visit to the famous City Hall, with its elegant Golden Hall, site of the Nobel Prize Banquet. Stroll through the Old Town with its cobblestone streets and medieval buildings. We will walk past the Royal Palace and Stock Exchange before boarding the coach for a visit to the Southern Island. You will have splendid views over the city and the harbour. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure. Overnight at the Clarion Stockholm Hotel or similar.
Day 3 STOCKHOLM - VÄXJÖ (B)
After breakfast depart Stockholm, travel south to the picturesque old town of Vadstena. Visit Vadstena on foot as we learn more about the Swedish history. Continue south to Växjö, the main town of the province of Kronberg for overnight. Overnight at the Scandic Hotel Växjö or similar.
Day 4 VÄXJÖ - COPENHAGEN (B)
Depart hotel after breakfast, a stop will be made at Småland Museum, with its interesting are collection, coins and a glass collection illustrating the history of glass making in Sweden. Continue on to the university town of Lund, where we will visit the Lund Cathedral. The cathedral houses fascinating treasures including intricately carved chairs from the year 1300, which were reserved for the Monks from the monastery next door. Travel across the Øresund Bridge linking Sweden with Denmark for a two night stay in Copenhagen. Overnight at the First Hotel Vesterbro or similar.
Day 5 COPENHAGEN (B)
After breakfast, enjoy a morning tour of Copenhagen. Drive down Hans Christian Andersen Boulevard, which runs past world famous Tivoli, the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek with its incredible collection of works of art and past the National Museum. Cross the picturesque canal and arrive at Christiansborg Palace, the seat of the Danish Parliament. View the Old Stock Exchange, which was built in the 17th century, and continue past the Naval Church where many grand Royal events take place. Drive past the Amalienborg Palace, the Queens residence as we travel to see the world famous statue of the Little Mermaid. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Day 6 COPENHAGEN - OSLO (B)
Breakfast at hotel, the day at leisure to enjoy Copenhagen on your own. Late afternoon transfer to the DFDS Seaways pier where you will board the overnight ship to Oslo. Overnight on board the luxurious DFDS Seaways ship.
Day 7 OSLO (B)
Enjoy breakfast on board the ferry as you sail up the Oslo Fjord. Upon arrival in Oslo, you will be treated to a 3 hour city tour. The first stop is the Frogner Park with the Vigeland Sculpture Park. 650 statues made of bronze, granite and wrought iron depict the cycle of life. The next stop is the Holmenkollen Ski jump with an impressive view over Oslo. Continue to the Viking Ship Museum with the 1000 year old Viking Ship that makes history come alive. Proceed past the medieval fortress of Akershus, the Royal Palace and the Town Hall. The remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight at the Scandic Edderkoppen or similar.
Day 8 OSLO - LILLEHAMMER - SKEIKAMPEN (B)
Depart Oslo after breakfast and drive North to the town of Eidsvoll, on the South end of Lake Mjøsa. Eidsvoll is perhaps the most resounding name in Norwegian history, for it was here that the Norwegian Constitution was framed and adopted in 1814. Continue to the charming town of Lillehammer, the town that was site for the 1994 Winter Olympics. You will have time to explore Lillehammer before traveling to the resort center of Skeikampen. Overnight a the Rainbow Skeikampen Hotel or similar.
Day 9 SKEIKAMPEN - ÅLESUND (B)
After breakfast travel to Ålesund through the Gudbrandsdalen Valley and along the shores of scenic Romsdal Fjord with a magnificent panorama of the snow-capped peaks of the Romsdal Mountains. Continue along the Stor Fjord before you arrive in Ålesund, often called "Venice of the North. The afternoon is free to enjoy this charming town on your own. Overnight at the Scandic Ålesund Hotel or similar.
Day 10 ÅLESUND - FØRDE (B, D)
Leave Ålesund and enjoy the spectacular views as we travel to Hellesylt and sail for a one hour cruise on the world famous Geiranger Fjord. The fjord has recently been listed in the UNESCO World Heritage list. Continue your impressive cruise to the fjord village of Geiranger and then ascend on the spectacular Geiranger Mountain Road, where you will have a unique birds-eye view of the Geiranger area and surroundings. Continue across the Utvik Mountain, the deserted Vatedalen Valley and along Lake Jølster before you arrive in the center of Førde. Dinner and overnight at the Sunnfjord Hotel or similar.
Day 11 FØRDE - BERGEN (B)
Depart Førde, sail by ferry across the Sogne Fjord, the longest Fjord in the world. Arrive in Vangsnes where you will see the giant 40ft high sculpture, Fridjof the Bold Viking. Proceed to Vik and visit the 12th century Hopperstad Stave Church. Continue to Gudvangen for a 2-hour cruise on Nærøy Fjord, sailing past cascading waterfalls and steep mountain sides. Arrive in the small fjord village of Flåm and depart on the world famous Flåm Railway, ascending more than 2900 feet in less than one hour. Enjoy the breathtaking view over the Flåm Valley and the thundering sound of waterfalls. Change trains at Myrdal Station and continue to Voss, where you meet your coach for a short drive to the old Hanseatic town of Bergen. Overnight a the Scandic Center or similar.
Day 12 BERGEN - GEILO (B, D)
Start the day with a tour of Bergen, it was for centuries the capital of Norway and the centre of a trade network that went as far as Iceland, Greenland and Scotland. Included is a visit to the Hanseatic Museum, a restored lodging and storage of a German merchants guild, where we will see what living conditions were like at the time. Depart Bergen, traveling through valleys, cruising the Fjords and viewing the spectacular mountains en route to Geilo. Dinner and overnight at the Bardola Hotel or similar.
Day 13 GEILO - OSLO (B)
Leave Geilo after breakfast, drive through charming Hallingdal Valley en route to the Hadeland Glassworks Factory. See a demonstration of glass production and spend some time shopping for quality glass products at bargain prices. Continue to Oslo for overnight. Overnight at the Scandic Edderkoppen or similar.
Day 14 OSLO DEPARTURE (B)
Enjoy breakfast at hotel before check out.
