Day 1 KITTILÄ (D)
Arrival at Kittilä airport and transfer to Muonio - Harriniva Holiday Centre (approx. 1 hour). Meet up with the safari group and information about the program for the week. Dinner and overnight in cozy double rooms at the Harriniva Hotel.
Day 2 HARRINIVA - HUSKY SAFARI (B, L, D)
After breakfast we will provide you with the safari equipment and present you the Arctic Sled-Dog Centre. Together we will pack the sleds and practice how to drive a dog team. After lunch we begin the safari.
Day 2 - 10 SAFARI FROM MUONIA TO KILPISJÄRVI (B, L, D)
The safari will take you from Muonio to Kilpisjärvi, to the last village at the end of the „Finnish arm“. The daily distances will vary from 30 to 70 km depending on weather conditions and the skills of the participants; pauses will be made according to wishes. During this safari we spend the nights in small wilderness huts and in tents. On some evenings we will return to the same hut or tent, because there are so many beautiful spots to visit along the route. The days are long and mostly warm, even the nights will be light and it will be possible to drive a night safari also. We will drive in the forest, over the frozen lakes and along the rivers; we will take you also up to the bare fell region. All meals will be prepared together, lunch by open fire in the wilderness, breakfast and dinner in wilderness huts and in tents. Each participant will also take care of his/her own dog team. In the evening of day 10 we will arrive in Kilpisjärvi and spend one night in cabins.
Day 11 HUSKY SLED SAFARI (B, L, D)
We all return to Harriniva Holiday Centre by car or by coach. In the evening Farewell dinner. Accommodation in cozy hotel rooms or in cabins near Harriniva.
Day 12 DEPARTURE (B)
Breakfast and transfer to Kittilä airport.
